The MOT test does not include assessing the condition of your car’s gearbox, clutch or engine. This is one of the reasons that it’s advisable to also give your car an Annual Full Car Service.
What happens if my car fails its MOT test?
If your car fails its MOT test then we will provide you with a VT30 Certificate that shows the reasons as to why your car has failed its MOT test. If your car does not still have a valid MOT or if the car has a dangerous fault, then you will not be allowed to drive your car away. However, we can make any necessary repairs to fix the faults that have been identified and will then be able to pass it through its MOT.
If you decide to take your car away for repairs and it is safe to do so, then you will be able to get a partial retest for free. This only applies if your car is returned to us within ten working days of the failed MOT test.
If your car is roadworthy but does not have a current MOT, then you should pre-book an MOT with us. Once the MOT is booked, you are permitted to drive your car to our Leicester MOT testing station.
